I’m a mom, a mentor, a podcast host, a chiropractor, and a full-time cheerleader for busy women who want more energy to do the things they love. My love of travel combined with my successful chiropractic practice means I’m constantly on the go, and people often say things like, “Wow, I wish I had your energy” — but believe me, it wasn’t always this way!
There was a time several years ago when I constantly felt Iike I was on the verge of crashing and burning. I was taking care of my family, including two young kids, while running back and forth between two chiropractic offices — but I wasn’t prioritizing myself, and it began to drag me down. For years, I’d lived with chronic pain due to old injuries and undiagnosed Lyme disease, and it got to the point where I was turning to prescription pain medication to make it through the day.
I was living completely out of alignment with my own beliefs and values
There I was, a chiropractor telling patients how to live healthier lives through a holistic approach, and meanwhile, I was popping painkillers just to survive. Something had to change.
After seeing how much pain I was in, one of my mentors encouraged me to take six months off to focus on my own healing. Finally, I had the opportunity to get introspective and figure out what I needed to be truly healthy — instead of just propping myself up enough to keep going. That’s when I started meditating and finding my own path to real wellness;
That’s when I started to focus on my own energy above all else.
And once I learned to put my own energy first, I began to heal from the inside out… and my whole life transformed.
So many women just push through with a smile on their face no matter what — even when they’re in pain, even when they’re exhausted. But the truth is, if you're constantly feeling drained and on the edge of burnout, you’re shortchanging yourself and everyone else in your life. The path to true health and happiness encompasses so much more than just working out and eating well: It’s about prioritizing your own energy and making sure you’re not pouring from an empty cup.
